Pinched this idea from Enlightened Equitation Forums.
It involves doing a weekly weighing with a weigh tape - got to be a good idea with a Native this time of year - and admitting to the results in public!
I will embarrass my 2 first.
As of today:
Bella - 550kgs.
Jack - 590kgs. (eeek)

Yes, I saw the EE thread too. I'm really struggling with harvey's weight right now as I can't exersise him properly. I can't remember the Kg conversion but will check my weigh tape tomorrow.

Prince is 484kgs
Leia is 538kgs
this is just by my weigh tape(didn't do the measurement conversion thingy) didn't do Daisy as I thought it was too chilly to take her rug off just to weigh-tape her

I'll do the same with Rose as they'd only be about two weeks apart if she is and send you a link to the picture. I just mention it as Rose weighs in at that type of weight but condition scores as actually being the right weight. Her baby bump makes her girth much bigger than her weight actually is. Just to be on topic (sorry) Drummer is currently around 490kg Bonnie is 260kg Rose is pregnant so the weigh tape doesn't work for her  |

I am getting worried now. I know mine are prob. some of the tallest, but they are starting to sound like by far the fattest too! They don't look that huge. Can we have some more heavyweights, please!!!
Of course it could be that my weigh tape has shrunk!

No Bellajack, I suspect I have the fattest - I'll report in later today! Harvey is HUGE at the moment but strangely I can feel his ribs reasonabley easily.
I'm wrong - Harvey doesn't beat Jack!
Harvey (just over 15hh) 567Kg
Quest (15.2) 420Kg
Winnie (13.2) 345Kg

Knight wishes to point out that he was unfairly said to be 525 Kg last week. When I measured him this week he was 486Kg. He could not have lost that much weight in a week but I'm sure I did have my reading glasses on both times. I'll check him again next week and see if it's just me not manageing the tape very well.

Dorothy feels it is most unfair to discuss a lady's weight in public but........ 2 weeks ago she was 600kg now she is 585kg. I have removed her straw bed!!!!

I've been taking monthly measurements of all my ponies for the last 8 years - ever since Quest first got Laminitis. Looking back at the weight fluctuations makes interesting (and worrying) reading!

I guess you're right Pam, it's the overall trend in weight not the specifics that you really get with consistant use of the tape. A good idea I think especially for our laminitis prone ones, so I should get myself in the habit.

I took my monthly reading today and I'm pleased to say they've all lost some weight since I moved them into my small, bare paddock (not that I want Winnie to lose weight - he'll have to go and spend some time in the grassy paddock).
Harvey is 538Kg and was 567
Quest is 408Kg and was 420
Winnie is 328Kg and was 345.
Next weigh in May 1st.
