I bought two, as they were such a bargain, although I already have three suberpads so I suppose you could say I'm a bit of a fan, lol! I really like the blue for a change (got sent one of each). I use them for garden chairs as the 'normal' pads do work a little bit better, although the ergos are still really nice pads.

So it is worth saving for a 10% thinner suber for under my SBS then in your opinion Kady?

Hi Linda! Well the difference is, that the cork (which is the same quality as what's used in the normal pads) is sewn into channels, like a duvet, whereas in the subers the cork is kept in place by nearly 100 pieces of tape that partly block the channels, so you get a smoother all over effect. Subers are £65 if you buy them directly from David Ahn, which includes the postage, so not too expensive. He told me that the main disadvantage of the ergos is that he had to put a lot of cork in the outside channels to keep it from falling down so thinks it might be possible to end up with a hard edge, but you could check it yourself to make sure that isn't happening. I think that if you're both happy and it's working then don't bother, unless you want the side-flap version, which is my favourite (but more expensive, another £20 I think).

Oh goodness. The choices are increasing! What is the side flap version when it is at home and why is it your favourite?

LOL, it's a suber pad with numnah-shaped side flaps, so it's a suber and numnah in one. I use the half-pad under the thorowgood as it's material underneath, but the full-flap under a plasticy wintec. It keeps everything clean too without having to mess about with a suber and a separate numnah. If you go to www.davidahnequine.co.uk there is a pic in the gallery of a brown full flap. The flaps are big enough for under the sbs too, I've tried it. I've heard someone say that the flaps rode up, but they never have on mine and it has loops to put the girth through.

Thanks Kady! More food for thought.

I have a full flap one as well. It's fits perfectly under my OH's barefoot cheyenne, doesn't ride up and keeps fleece underside of saddle clean.

I think the full flap is brill, so that's two of us who havn't had any riding up!! Also David Ahn uses the full flap when he goes riding, so it must be the best one!

I tried my ego pad tonight Linda, and it was really good, didn't slip backwards and had a lovely even dirt mark afterwards, and her back looked just as good, so it's a thumbs up from me, thinking I should have got three now, lol!!
