Whilst at Hickstead managed to see in real life a bareback pad I had seen on the internet. It is like a numnah with lambswool on the bottom and the top, shaped a bit on the top, with girth and stirrup bars underneath, and complete with a lambswool lined girth...
I was very tempted for the shettie as it would be soooo comfy for him and the kids ,but decided that even at the show offer of £135 instead of usual £190 it was a bit of an indulgence...and my friend said that if I was spending that much I should get one big enough for Lucy and Betty to enjoy the comfort myself.....lol
It was totally gorgeous...and made by a local company called Horsedreams......
Ah to be rich ;D

I got my OH a bareback pad for D. It is a best friends one. It doesnt have stirrups though, but he likes it! It has a none slip material underneath and a suede like material on the top. It is a nice one and has never slipped yet. OH likes to plod round in it rather than the saddle. I think it was around the £50 mark www.barebackpad.co.uk/This is a link to the one I have, although I got mine from an e-bay shop, so didnt pay this much
