I need to get a bridle for Zorro the Welsh sec d that staying with us but I'm not sure what type to get him. I'm aiming to get him ready to take to his 1st show in September to do an in-hand class. I'm very new to showing, only starting this year with Jay, so I've never shown a Welsh before. Whichever bridle I get I'd like it to be suitable for showing him because I can't really afford to buy him a separate in-hand one, and and Jay's 'wardrobe' drowns him! ;D So do you think I should get flat leather, rolled/raised leather, plain or stitched? And do I get one with a flash or no flash (he's not broken yet so wouldn't need one for a while, if at all)? His head is a lot finer than a Dales head, so i was wondering if he'd look better in rolled/raised leather rather than flat. Or should he be in flat leather because he's be shown in M+M classes

My Showing Native Ponies says Welsh D's should have a stouter bridle than the B's&C's and a flat nose band

Thanks for that Zelda. I'll look out for a flat leather one then....typically more difficult to find! ;D

Try Rideaway and Derby House, both Sabre and Jeffries make them

Yep I'd also say a flat hunter bridle, the Jeffries ones are lovely
