Hmmmm - look good. I have the original Sprenger system 4 and I really like them - these look to have gone a step further.

I saw these at HOYS and had to pick them up to examine them!

What did you think of them Gill? I used to use the original Sprenger ones and they were the only irons my ankle could stand. As you know, I've had to stop using irons altogether now but I've been wondering whether these new Sprenger ones might suit me. Just an awful lot of money to spend only to find out they're no good for me.

I liked the tread which was thick and grippy but not sure what to make of the stirrup shape - couldn't quite work out what it was supposed to do!

I think it turns the stirrup at an angle, a bit like the Heather Moffatt ones, but at 45o instead of 90o to normal. Does that make sense?

Mmm, if that's the case I would like to try a pair.

If you go to www.thesaddleryshop.co.uk/and give the lady a call she's talking about letting you hire them to try them. I can't see the hire option yet from just a quick glance at the website but she's very friendly and helpful when you call. I bought my hoofboots for Drummer through her and she spent nearly two hours on the phone to me over a period of five days in order to make sure we had the right ones and that they fitted properly. With the boots you hire them and then just keep them if you like them.

Oh thanks Heather! I will give her a ring. It is too much money to spend without knowing whether they will help me but if they do, then it would be money very well spent.
