Hi Sue,
Just wondering how Bea's getting on with the waterford baucher?

It's great Olivia! I've ridden Bea in the school and on a hack with it and he went really well on both occasions. He mouthed it a lot at first, but I left him alone to play with it and he soon settled down. The test will be having a lesson - and I'll do that at the weekend. He can get very strong in class lessons!
Jacquidales has loaned me the Neue Schule version, which looks nice. Just need to see how he goes in that.
It was a good suggestion, Olivia, thank you. I feel much happier with this bit rather than the Dr Bristol. Bea is certainly comfortable in it - he'd soon tell me if he wasn't! LOL

Oooh glad it seems to be going well. I've never used one myself, but do you remember Cobnut - well his little cob mare LOVED hers. She wasn't strong at all, but something about the waterford really suited her. Don't know why it flashed into my brain as a possiblility.

I schooled Bea in it today and noticed a big difference in how much softer he was in the mouth and neck. He dropped his head onto the bit and gave me a lovely elastic contact at walk and trot. I think he likes it! LOL
It'll be interesting to see how he goes in our lesson tomorrow.
I never would have thought of trying one if Olivia hadn't suggested it.
