I was about to ask that too, Linda. Do you mean a Shammie type cloth? I seem to remember some one posting about a place in Yorkshire that sells shammies for the racing people for this purpose.

Pam yes the Barnsby Pad fits the Fhoenix perfectly - this is the suberpanel so it sticks out a bit more, the prolite panel sits shorter.

Thaks Gill, I like the look of that pad. Is it also high wither, similar to the numed ones?

It's not a shammie leather - I've tried them in the past and they didn't work as well as this one. I'll try and find a picture of it for you.

I have a rubbery dishcloth too - a silicone gel pad. Racking my brains to think what it is called and who makes it. They also reduce/even out pressure etc. Mine was about £35. Em, I actually don't use it any more - bought it for Apollo when he was a bit lean and his saddle sat too low. PM me if you want and I'll get you an internet link and if you like the look of it I'm sure we can do a deal..... have a look at www.kmeliteproducts.co.uk and look under the Gel-Eze tab. I think mine is the wither one.

Mmmm - I've seen those before - Tilly's isn't like that tho. It was about £4, but it doesn't even out pressure like a gel pad does tho.
I spent an hour trawling through online tack shops today with no joy :/
I'll post a pic up if I do find one.

Whilst trawling the net I found this article about teh Barnsby Grip Pad (about 1/3rd way down this page). Is that you, Alison, quoted on the page?

Pam yes it is high wither, you just pull it up into the gullet and it stays put. It also has neoprene pads along where the saddle sits, as you can just see on the pic.

Olivia do you mean the rubbery mats that you can sit on car dashboards to stop things slipping around? If so the Barnsby pad is lined with this - you can also buy it by the roll quite cheaply - I've got a roll of it and think it was only £4 or something like that. I am sure if you are handy you could sew it underneath a numnah (a lot cheaper than the Barnsby pad too which was over £50!). Edited to say is this what you mean Olivia www.justoffbase.co.uk/Grip-Mat-450-X-1820mm-Approx-54673-Draper-DGM2?sc=9&category=717Mine was miles cheaper than this!

Yes, I will take a pic for you. I have never actually seen one of these before in tack shops, but Olivia managed to get me a replacement from her local tack shop.

I use a prolite saddle stay pad which is very thin and about £18. Suberpad works too!
