Found something similar to what Olivia was describing I think- its like rubbery foam. Meant to be an exercise mat but was £4 so thought it was worth a go. trouble is its bright pink! Going to hopefully try it tomorrow and see if it works. If not ill be looking at more expensive options

Well, I've just got myself a Pro Choice girth, something I'd been putting off for months because of the cost, telling myself there was nothing wrong with my Wintec girth. My saddle didn't slip that much but more than I would like. However, I am VERY impressed with this girth, it really has solved the problem completely.

Mickey, somebody I know has one of the roundest cobs in the world & their saddle was always slipping, they got a Geleze saddle pad and the saddle stuck like glue apparently, they were dead chuffed with it. They have some in Hillam, they are £19.99 (i think) don't quote me though. Here's a link www.equineman.com/gel_eze_under_bandage.htm#3

I am so glad ya'll went over this. I always thought I messed up putting the saddle on. Good thing I rode a Dales that was wonderful. He would stop and look at me like I was crazy?! Worst was when the saddle turned while we were making a corner. My foot was still in the stirrup and he never ran off. Just looked at me wondering. God bless the dales!

Thanks Lisa- will have a look on Thursday. Although it seemed too well I wasn't too happy that it wouldnt cause pressure points being a flat sheet . Ill also have a look at those girths. One way or another his saddle will stop slipping (nonails anyone?!?)

I've used a gel-eze pad and I found it very good. I love my Pro Choice girth though.

gel eze, prolite pad, and barnsby grip pad are all great, but for convenience the grip pad wins hands down. I hate fiddling about with layers that never seem to be in the right place at the right time!!

Khristyne, that's convinced me. I'll start looking for a grip pad as I hate faffing about with pads etc.
