I have a wintec VSD or 500 as they are both very similar so not a 100% sure which. I had a lesson today and my instructor said that he felt the saddle was pushing me to lean to far forward, i was pleased he had said this as i had felt that the saddle had been doing this to me but wasn't sure, if i was just dreaming it up. I have a connermara who is a wide in the wintec, so he isn't a small pony. I need to find something that will suit him being wide, but something that helps with my seat that i can do a little of everything including jumping. Any idea of makes any one? I would get a saddle fitter in, but after some ideas, to get an idea of prices and how much i will need to save.

Ideal do a wide range of seat styles and trees so you should get something at a reasonable price.

I struggled to find a saddle to fit Yeti (guessing part welsh) due to his shape. Ended up having a template made by a John Whitaker fitter as they were on the yard, found out the size he'd need (35) and was told they can alter any width so bought a 32 on ebay and had it altered by them using his template. Im happy with it, but would prefer more knee rolls.

Ideal are nice saddles and seem to suit the wider pony. I was stuck between and ideal and the one I bought in the end.
Dancer ended up with a GFS pro event. Lovely saddle! He is in a wide. I dressage, jump and show in it. It has a lovely seat and doesnt tilt you forward like some do. The fit with the GFS was slightly better than the Ideal - apart from that there was nothing in it!

Thanks you everyone, it has give me some ideas to think about and saddle types to looking into and find something to suit us both. Trouble is saddle fitters say is he wide?? Well he is, but as i have to campare him against my Highland pony and in laws Suffolks, i sometimes say no without thinking, LOL.

I liked the Farrington saddles when I looked at treed for Bobs and he needed a very wide one. It was v. similar to an ideal and wasnt too expensive.
