Hi welcome to DalesFans Horseygirl I've never used a pelham or double bridle so I'm not much help I'm sure someone else will be able to advise you, when they see this post that is lol lots of us just manage to pop on while at work so it migh take a wee while until they notice your post, why don't you try reposting it in horsey chat as that's where most people head to first ;D

Hi & welcome horseygirl! Since it's way to hot to ride here, I had Knight model his bridles for photos. So here goes. I've put the bits & curb chain on the double bridle as I was taught, but I'm no expert so someone may see something I could do differently or better. Also a detail of Knight's pelham, his usual bit, with an elastic curb instead of a chain. Hope this helps or someone else can point out something else to help. Edited to say I'm sorry our model is so grumpy. He was afraid I was actually planning to ride and as you can see that idea didn't appeal to him at all. It was too near his dinner time.

Thanks for coming to the rescue Nancy I was trying to find photos on the internet...and everyone was busy writing how to do it, but no photos. A picture's worth a thousand words. Knight's looking well; poor boy looks a touch worried... But I've only got one photo coming up. The top one comes in, but the bottom two are boxes with the little red x. Welcome to Dales-fans horseygirl Zelda's right, sometimes it can take much longer for posts in the saddlery section to be noticed. A lot of people don't have much time, and will look only in the Horsey or General Chats.

I can only see the top pic too. Poor Knight - must have been a worrying moment for him when he thought he might have to do some work at dinner time.

Aww, Knight would be very bummed to know his pictures are not showing up! He worked so hard in the heat for those pics. Any suggestions on how to get them to show up? I may try redoing them & see if that helps.

Same here, all of the pics are coming through clearly, so whatever you did was great LOL, I can see why Knight was concerned That's a lot of modelling, and bits get in the way of dinner!

This is Magic in a pelham. The curb chain is a bit long on this photo and needs a few links removed. There should be a leather lip strap to hold the chain in place. Knight, I can't see your photos!!!!!

Thanks for posting the pic. Ya know a picture is a thousand words. I got her a Korsteel one and want to make sure I did it correct. I have only used snaffle bits and nothing with a chain. My trainer and I will try it with her today.

I've let Nancy know her pics aren't showing up, but she's completely swamped with work just now. I doubt she'll be able to fix them and get them up anytime soon.
Thanks for posting the lovely picture of Magic. She's such a gorgeous pony! Did you take that pic of her, or was it a professional pic? Its a really, really nice picture.

Oh that is a lovely picture of Magic! She's gorgeous.
Ann, sorry I didn't see this thread till now & posted Knight's Pelham pics again in Schooling Questions. Not sure why I put it there, maybe one of the moderators can move it here where it more belongs. Knight is ok in his myler comfort snaffle but at his best with the pelham. Daisy may like it too. The top rein does give a more snaffle like action so maybe you can leave the curb rein a little loose as you give yourself & Daisy time to get used to all the new stuff.
