That would work with the endurance bridle then, as it is a tiny bit higher up the face than an average noseband, and is loose. I was thinking about the strap from the throat piece to the noseband and the rope ring but I think they'll all be out of the way.
I will see what Claudy and Sue have to say about the bit!

Yes they do do a trial of the bit for £5.00 for 30 days. Its www.shop4bits.com i spoke to him to change my order and he said they had sold over 100 in two months, i think the ad in horse and hound helped. Im just going to look and see if they are dressage legal, anyone know?

No ideas if it would be dressage legal or not. Maybe your local dressage club or judge would know?? It will be interesting to hear the feedback on so many ponies with this bit.

That bit looks quite interesting. If dancer doesnt start going in this one he is in now, I may give that one a swirl. I am using a KK Correctional Bit at the moment - meant to stop horses leaning on you, getting tongue over etc. www.thesaddleryshop.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=1290All we seem to do is fight about it! But I havent really had a chance to get him going in it yet as we have no school and weather is pants for grass riding.

Well i attempted to give it a go today. What a going on i had trying to fit it! Its a good job misty is a sweetie as i had it in 3 different positions and i still thought it didnt look right! I ended up with it on position 1 which they advise for everyday riding but when i got out the other horse that i was with decided to go mental and misty got upset and wouldnt do a thing for me!!! (i dont blame her cos she was frightened the other horse was going to jump on her!) I had brakes though and she seemed to like it in her mouth. The other fitting prob i had was that there has to be little or no wrinkles at the mouth, which i found when i gathered my reins up the cheek pieces where loose which i think they are meant to be but it seemed wierd! Im going out again tommorow with a sane horse for company so watch this space!! Im pretty hopeful though cos its only like a loose ring snaffle at the moment and she is used to having a pelham in and she was responding when i asked her to. Jo x

I most certainly will Sue - until I get schooling I'm not going to see the benefits I dont think! But at least he will be used to the shape in his mouth. I dont think he is keen on the port - but only because it stops him doing what he likes to do - lean on me and stick his tongue over it - so its doing what it should!
I dont know what braking system it will provide mind! Dance is light mouthed anyway, so stopping is rarely an issue to be fair!
If you want a borrow, let me know - I have other bits I can use for a few days!!!!

Jo with Mistythat's really interesting. I didn't realize it would be fitted with no wrinkles, but it makes sense. I'd be interested to hear what she thinks of it with a sane companion. And it sounds like there were brakes, and she was comfy with it, which is a big start! LOL.... Jo with D.... haha, so the boy's not keen on having his tricks taken away. ;D Seriously, I bet your arms were relieved not to have him leaning on you like that. I bet it sets up a huge cantilever affect through his body, helping him to 'balance' and not have to work so hard. Fingers crossed the weather co operates and you get more chances to work with the new bit

Well im not! Iv sent it back. She did go ok in it but she didnt work very well in it and was very heavy on my hands which she never is. The other problem i found is that for two of the positions unless you use a bit lifter strap the rings turn outwards. I dont know if this was my bridle as i have a comfort bridle that has quite a chunkey nose band or if you can use it without a bit lifter on. So i spoke to heather from neue sheule and she said to try her in a pelham without the curb on for schooling and iv put a curb guard on for when im hacking and shes alot happier. If i want to dressage going to try a neue schuele hanging cheek.
Id be interested to see what others have thought to it and if anyone can use position 2 and 3 without a bit lifter strap on. Jo x
