We had a thread on about this bit a while ago. Has anybody tried one? One of the other liveries on the yard has just got one and is impressed.....

I remember reading about them on a gaited horse forum. Apparently it was the cat's meow, but I've no personal experience with them. They looked to be a very comfortable bit, though.

Well the friend who is using it for her horse got it as a last resort because her horse has a very VERY fleshy tongue which he lolls out of his mouth all the time as soon as she takes up a contact. He was obviously not comfortable in any of the bits she tried - and she tried loads - but she rode him in the pee-wee this morning and there was no sign of the tongue.
It's ever so thin and looks to be an odd kind of gadget, but if the horse is comfortable who cares!!

Yep, that's the one. I'm so glad your friend's horse found relief with this bit. I bet she's pretty relieved to find something to make him happy as well

I saw these a while ago and started the previous thread about them. Never did any more about it though, and haven't heard of anyone using one (apart from your friend Sue) but still think they look quite nice.

My friend has said I can try hers to see what Bea thinks of it. I'll have to do it in the Christmas hols - so watch this space and I'll do a "report" LOL

excellent! We can see if it makes him frilly or not! A picture would be nice too if poss? The one I saw didn't really show how it would fit on the horse - seemed to be too many straps!

I'll take pics for you Jane. I'm a bit uncertain because Bea hates unjointed bits. But because this is so thin he might accept it better. LOL - if he doesn't like it he'll have a major frilly; he's good at making his feelings absolutely clear in no uncertain terms!

Well iv got one of these coming this week so i will let you know too! My mare is in a mullen mouth pelham and always has been, so will be interesting to see how this goes. The only reason im looking for another bit is because i dont really like using roundings with a pelham as i think it puts uneccessary curb pressure on just when you have a normal contact but i dont like using double reins when im out hacking so i was looking for a bit to just use for hacking, i was going to try the neue sheule universal but the pee wee took my eye as i can use it 3 different ways fir jumping dressage and hacking, i just hope iv got some brakes! x

Escellent Claudy, pics from you too please!
Harley is still in a full cheek french link snaffle, but lacks brakes in exciting situations!! Wonder if the pee wee would be good for him too?
I think the saddle shop does a loan service - is that where you are getting yours?
Can the hprse wear a noseband with the pee wee? Just thinking about Harley's combination endurance bridle that converts to a headcollar and wondering if the peewee would make too many straps under the chin!

Needs a loose noseband only. my friend has just tried one with huge success!
