Just tried the excercise cart on Flash and it's not big enough! Grrr! The shafts are far too short so we're going to make something basic up to get him going in. If anyone is interested in it let me know. It will fit a pony about 12-13 hands. It has balance and a backstep so is a nice little cart. Looking for about £150 for it. Here's Flash with the cart! Just a thought, if anyone up north is interested we'll be coming up to Lancs on July 8th so could bring it with us!

That's a real shame Sue. Do you want to borrow the Hillam for a couple of weeks to get him going until you sort something else out.

oh what a real pain. Anyhow, Flash doesn't seem to mind, was he bothered by the shafts and stuff or did he just accept it like everything else. He looks super all togged up, you are going to have such fun with him.

Thanks for the offer Kim but Dave has this wonderful prototype chariot in his brain and wants to make it so I'd better let him!!
Jo, he wasn't bothered by the shafts at all and we really only walked him a little way in the paddock as we didn't have the breeching on. Didn't mind the weight on his back at all.

Never stand in the way of a man with an idea in his head, if he doesn't make it know it will always be there to be done at a later date.
We saw a very good cart at Reading a few years back, wasn't quite a chariot but you did get on at the back in between two forward facing seats which made a lot of sense. I hate the carts where you get in infront of the wheels and are tricky to do so, if the pony moves forward you end being run over by you own vehicle - not that any of mine have done that and I am sure non of yours would either but with fidgety ponies it can be a real hazard.
