;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I am totally and utterly delighted - on Friday evening I thought I'm going to do it, so took the gig and Woody up to the field. A bit of long lining, a bit with Woody, then we put him in shafts. Mike help him and helped where he could, and off we went. We led him round a few times first - no problems, no jumping, hollowing or worry AT ALL!!! Then I couldn't help myself and got in and drove him, with Mike walking beside him. I t was wonderful, I have been working towards this for 6 years and it has finally happened. I am SO SO proud of Harley for taking it so calmly, he's not the bravest of ponies and could easily have got very stressed but no, he trusts me enough to go with it. I am so happy!!!!! Here's us standing nice and relaxed....... ...and here's us with me in the gig!!! Please ignore my bad rein holding. I think the gig looks OK, not totally convinced it's the right height at the breeching - any thoughts?

Well done!! You have obviously worked very hard to get Harley to accept the cart so easily.
That cart does look too small to me. Can you see over Harley's bottom when you are on the driving seat? Its sometimes difficult to tell from pics though.

Absolultly fantastic!!!!! Its an amazing feeling that first time, you'll have that buzz now.
I would agree with Mair in that the gig loooks a bit small heightwise, i was always told the shafts should be horizontal basically and as Mair said you should be able to see over bum!

Thanks for your opinions (and lovely comments!) If I put bigger wheels on iyt would that do the job? Is it going to do him any harm just walking and trotting in the field?
I can see over his bott!!
