Good news about the Harleygig

I had an experienced driver come down last night to look at Harley in the gig and the only reason it didn't fit was that I had the traces and breeching too loose! So he hoiked it up a few holes and put the traces up several holes (oops) and it now sits nicely, doesn't pull back on the tugs and he says it'll be fine. Slightly bigger wheels would be an advantage, but the main thing is its not going to do any harm so on we go!!

Now the hay is done I have 3 fields to play in, so can practise going through gates and tight turns round telegraph poles and things, then eventually venture ontl the road eek!

He said I should always have a driving whip with me to stop H coming backwards (which he tried to do but I yelled at him and he walked on).

My traces are on the shortest hole, as are the straps that go round the shafts from the breeching, but I'm sure if I phoned Andrew who I got the harness from he would either swap for shorter ones or sell them to me - the harness is extra full, but that was for Harley's width and breadth and he's pretty short backed.

Delighted it all fits, and having made contact with this chap it's good to know he's there if I need more help.

Nice to know it fits Jane, handy having someone who can sort you out!
Have you got the Tedex? We brought one for Flash and have had to change a few bits. Noseband wasn't big enough and we've gone from a cob to a full size pad. Don't think they're over generous on their sizing! (or Flash is oversized on his tummy!Lol!)

Yep, it's a Tedex Tedman, extra full!! The reins are really long too, might see if i can get them changed. They sit on the floor of the gig and I'm worried I'll get my foot through them!
