Shes lovely. How old is she? How old to donkeys generally get too as I can remember a donkey at the yard where I was when I was little and she was old then so must be ancient now.

Lulu is 9 yrs old. I think they can reach a very good age, about 30 - 40 yrs. So we will be driving and enjoying her for a long time yet!

So cute. There are mules, draft mules, donkeys, draft horses, pony, horses, and now a llama at the barn I am at. I get to go land skiing with the draft mule. She is a retired girl of 19 years that worked on an Amish farm. She sometimes forgets that she is so strong. I love that mule. Anne

Lulu looks great. I love your exercise vehicle and the harness. Please can you tell me the details of both. I have 2 donkeys who are broken to ride but the kids have turned into adults so the donks are redundant field pets now! I've been toying with the idea of breaking them to drive and you have definitely inspired me to do something about it !
Think the boys may not share my enthusiasm though.....

LOL! Donkey's definately have their own minds don't they! I think my mum bought the harness off Ebay - it is a webbing harness, shetland size. The trap came from West Yorkshire and was made by Hillams - it is a shetland size cart but fits upto about 12hh - Lulu is 11.2hh so it is just right for her. Good luck with 'persuading' your donkey's to drive! - hope they like their new career!

My mum loves donkeys and would have one in a shot, she looks very much at home in that pic.
