Hi, Ive just been up to a freinds farm and had a little go on her saddle chariot - it was excellent, really user freindly and horse freindly - has anyone else any experience of these brilliant inventions? They have a web site - Im not sure if its ok to post up web sites here? but Ill try - www.saddlechariot.com. My two year old was sat on it today by herself (with assistance!) her first driving experience and mine! Im hooked. they have a video of some on buggy boardig of the back of the chariot while the horse is cantering round!

Wow I have never heard of these before. They look quite good fun and I would love to have a try - it would certainly raise a few eyebrows at the next BDS Drive LOL!!! It would take a lot of training to get a pony used to this and you would have to live with the chance that a pony could kick you from here to kingdom come if it wanted to. Couldn't really see how the ting was connecting onto the 'harness'. Does it connect onto the collar? I couldn't tell from the website. I also thought the pony (on the website) was quite small for a man? Glad you and your little one had lots of fun.

They are the dogs-doodahs!! Great fun and still on my shopping list!! Simon is Uppminster (2 stops past Barking!) and I just love him and his pony Henry who has more attitude than you can imagine!! It has a bale out rip cord which instantly detaches the cart from the pony in an emergency, and as an engineer I just love the design and logic of it. As a BDS/BHS person one would hate it as there is nothing conventional to hang your hat on from which you can start to explore its finer points! Now I've got the Benni it is my next silly purchase. It was designed for large peeps to exercise small ponies on their own with maximum safety and an emphasis on fun!! Let me know if you want my Q&D dvd of it to see! Lx

We all got a chance to drive Henry in the chariot up the field and back. Its very lightweight so the driver can pick it up and lift it over obstacles if necessary. I'd love to have one. It doesn't require a groom so you can go out on your own.
