Feeling a bit blur as my show for this weekend has been rained off. :(It was going to be our first outing for about two months and Sporty and I are ripe for an outing. Classic half the season he has a cold and as soon as he is well again we get rained off! I was really looking forward to it. Typical horses I suppose shouldn't expect anything else. Also perhaps have to get life in perspective a bit What is everyone else up to this weekend?

What is everyone else up to this weekend? - Swimming? Canoeing? ;D At least your show was cancelled due to the wet. Our show for today never existed due to me misreading a schedule! lol I need to get things into persective too. Just got an Email from a friend to say at the Riding Club area trials for our region, there was only one entry in the Dressage to Music and had I gone with Harvey he would have won easily and got through to the finals. Stupidly, I feel I've missed out even though I know I've stopped competing plus Harvey HATED being stabled at Addington alongside lots of other horses and I swore I'd never put him through that again. Just keep reminding me please!

Not this weekend, but Our Riding Club Rural Riders team had their competition cancelled a week or so ago which they had been practising for over the last couple of months. It was the qualifiers for the whole of Area 20 which includes North Wales, Shropshire and parts of Cheshire and when they put the dressage markers out the day before they were seen to be floating Well I am off on Sunday to Greece where they are having a heatwave - when I get back I'll let you know which was worse!!

Have done the same thing with non existant shows - glad it's not just me! Real bummer about missing that class I can't bear it when that sort of thing happens - know just how you feel. I suppose you must congratualte yourself on putting your horse first unlike many competitors. Greydales - thanks for the info at least i haven't been practising for 2 months! Have a great time in Greece I bet you really need the break after all the traumas of last week. I'm sure the heat wave will be a welcome break from being perpetually soggy - I am envious!

Well.......I went and helped my OH clean and re-assemble his new train for the gala next weekend and then.........as we were near to your Notts Bennington Intro Clara, we went and had a look......it was in very good condition, only a few minor scratches, the lady had it new in 2004, didn't get on with the pony it was bought for and then sadly lost her husband (who bought it for her) so it's been sitting in a shed since. So this weekend I bought a Bennington! Yeehaaa!!!!!!!! And for a little less than it was advertised for! Thank you sooooooo much for the tip off! Really sorry your event was rained off. Better that than pulling something cos the going was too bad, but very frustrating all the same.

This weekend we've been loading train trakcs on a trialer in the rain, visiting th e light of my life (well one of them) and buying a steamer. See what you are reduced to when you don't hve your pony at home any more? Still, I['m having a lovely dance round the kitchen with joE - "my life ..... never let you goooo - promise not to fade awyy - lback hole and revelation.s" la la ;a la ........

Linda's at it again, eh? Have a great time Linda ....and knock on wood over that hangover bit Really pleased you scored a Bennington Lucy, but cringed over that poor woman's husband. I'm so sad when people lose their mates I'm sure you'll have a grand time, though, and finally put the cart to good use As for rained out competitions ~ oooh, I've been there, done that only with dog shows, not ponies. Its soooo not right when you've been working your tail off in training only to get pipped at the post Ah well, the nice thing about competitions is that there's always another one. Synchronized pony swimming anyone??
