Had a up and down lesson with Claire today! Vanty was fantastic and did really well, and the few mini wobblers we had I coped with fine, here's him doing some poles: Wiz on the other hand was a complete g*t! Doing his dragon impression (breathing smoke!) I think this was just after he'd done a hoolie, pulled me over and bogged off up the field! I felt slightly better as he then did the same to Claire!! Third time lucky he then calmed down and did some reasonable work, so we tried fitting the chariot which he took exception to and off he went again! Fortunately the "quick release" did!! I am very cross with myself for not quitting whilst we were ahead! He really needs working everyday for a while, so roll on Christmas and plan B!

Oh dear, cheeky Wiz! Hope he didn't do you any damage pulling you over. That's the trouble with this time of year - it's often better to do nothing at all with them till after Christmas when there is more time. That's what I've decided to do with Harvey anyway.

Oh dear more work and a stronger bit! Not a good habit in a driving pony. Hope you are not too bruised and I'm sure he will come round in the end.

Harley has these moments too but has never got away on me thank goodness. I think if he got off once that would be it.
Do you long line in a driving bit or a snaffle?
Hope you are not too sore after being hauled over

I actually stayed upright, more by luck than judgement so only my pride dinted! LOL! He has had his comeuppance this morning though, as I made him go out and do 15 mins more work instead of being allowed to hoover up what was left of Chocs breakfast! He was quite good, if a bit stiff, with only one little moment which I was more than ready for so it was over almost before it began! I also used the stable end of the field! I just think he's not used to working. 10 going on 3! Let's see if I can help him grow up next year! He's in a rubber straight bar bit at the moment, so no real brakes!

Ah dear, yep nothing that consistent work won't overcome. Boring, but true. Thank heavens the quick release did its job And thank goodness he only dinted your pride and nothing else I'm sure he'll come round with some consistent work.

I think he'll be fine once he realises how old he really is :-)
Hmm, having said that, Harley will be 11 next year and STILL behaves like a 3 year old...

Just got to love 'em though! I am not sure Isaac has the right mental attitude for driving! LOL! It makes me realise how wonderful (and lucky) we were with Amy! Hope she passes that on to her foalie! How's Doris doing??
