Pam have you tried a probiotic for Quest?
Slippery elm is good for digestive problems and diarrhoea. This is taken from a Horse Herbal it is nutritious and will act as an internal poultice by soothing and relieving inflamation. I find that it is best to mix the slippery elm powder with with a natural live yoghurt and add it to the horses feed or syringe directly into the mouth, the recipie is 1 tablespoon of slippery elm to 2 tablespoons of yoghurt given at least twice a day
I've heard of Physyllum husk being used to prevent sand colic, but couldn't find anything about it in my horse herbal book

Thanks Zelda, I was fairly sure you had suggested something herbal for Quest's sort of condition. I think Slippery Elm is worth trying. Where do you get it from and what sort of quantitiesdo you feed?

Pam the amounts are in the extract from the herbal book above, I would think Hollan and Barrett or another health food type shop would have it, maybe even Boots
