Thank goodness they still had power as of this afternoon and can stay warm. They've got another day or two of ice & snow coming apparently. My brother and mother are in central Kansas which is like alot of Oklahoma with much of the power out and neither of them has had power for two days. Thankfully he took mom to his house where he has wood stoves and they can atleast stay warm & have a hot meal. They're settling in for a couple more days of it also. Sure wish I could do more for them right now but there's little to be done but wait for warmer weather in a few days. I sure feel for everyone who has family and friends in the ice storm area.

Yes, fingers and hoofs crossed for Debbie and your family too, Nancy. I'd never heard of ice storms until Debbie first posted about them - it looked frightening on the TV last night.

Knock on wood, ...and knock some more... we've managed to keep our electicity. The trees and powerlines have been hit, and hit hard. Its interesting how different the different states look, though. In some states, its only the upper trees and powerlines that seem to have been coated in ice. In others, like our area, everything's coated in an extremely thick layer. Its been very unusual. Sometimes we get an ice storm here in Missouri, but Eldon and I have never seen ice storms like what we've had last year and this year. I mean, usually the storm lasts a day or so, and that's it. These have been four day ice storms last year, and this year, a four day ice, followed by another two days ice. Kinda like winning the lotto I guess. Nancy, I really really hope the crews can restore the power to your brother and Mom soon. I know they've been working round the clock, but I'm so thankful they have some place warm to wait it out.

Thank goodness your power is holding out! My brother & Mom still have none & no telling when it will be restored. Miserable timing because he has to go out of state to prep for some surgery he's having on the 18th. He's trying to get a motel room for Mom while he's gone and he's draining the water out of the lines at both houses & doing what he can to prevent freezing damage at both homes. He is trully a saint, I'll have to do something extra nice for brother.
Fingers & hooves still crossed here for you Debbie. Of course from Blossom's point of view I'm sure that since she has plenty of hay it's mostly fun time. At least Knight says if you have plenty of hay to eat nothing could possibly be much of a problem.
Edited; sorry I always have to edit things. As I get older my fingers have a life of their own.

I am glad you have power. We have a woodstove. So, if the power does go out we still have heat and can cook.
