I'm thinking of starting to do a bit of showing with some of our dogs, so last night we took 2 of them to a xmas companion dog show held by our local ringcraft club that we've recently joined. Purdey my home bred lab got 2nd in 'Any variety Junior' and 4th in 'Any variety Gundog'  Herman our GWP (Debbie's fave! ;D) got 1st in his puppy class, then went on to get Best Puppy in Show! I'm a very proud mum! (Edited because I managed to post it by accident before I'd finished...twice!  ) |

We're going to try a few open shows as there's some coming up localish to us in January and February. But I've first got to learn how to 'stack' Herman properly Much easier with the labs because they just free-stand |

Stack?? what does that mean...is that when they sort of pose for the judges with their legs arranged beautifully?

Yep, thats the one...except with Herman you touch him and he gets over-excited and trys to see if the view's any different from your shoulders! ;D

Well done! Brilliant results and only your first go at it! Sound great fun - good luck for your Shows next year and don't forget to take some pics! Labradors free stand? I don't think any one has told Ben that! He usually is the one who ends up with an ASBO at local shows! |
