Dom is now feeling much better yay - so am now feeling much more I came upstairs to find him munching on a mix of chocolate pudding and scrambled egg (Well he is a rat...) and having a good long drink He then came out for a good play on the sofa - currently he's curled up under my laptop on my legs where it's nice and toasty. But earlier he decided that he didn't like my choice of TV! s23.photobucket.com/albums/b381/TillyTrouble/?action=view¤t=DSCF0518.jpgBut anyway to the point of my post! Before I knew how much better he was I prepared his evening tray, which gives a good idea of what you need to nurse an ill ratty: So we have moist dog food to tempt the appetite a little h hv (<- Dom's now helping with the typing!) bit of our dinner again to try and tempt him to eat semolina - which he's decided he really quite likes!!! guardian angel - emergency rehyrdating solution Polyaid - emergency food supplement Water - to make up the guardian angel and polyaid syringes - to give them with Neck pouch - to keep him warm and comfortable while I'm feeding him oh - and Horlicks - to keep me going

Oi you forgot the Marmite!! Tell Dom he can have mine That's a pretty handy looking packet. I'm so glad he's feeling better now. All those antibiotics and extra doses of Guardian Angel must've helped. Fingers crossed he gets to feeling even better

Well he's definitely feeling better. The little burger had his night time dose and ABs and the second I managed to get them in his mouth (which he is now fighting like mad) he spat them straight back out. He was very unimpressed when I then made him have a second dose!!! I then went to put him back in his carrier for the night and he jumped straight back out and went for a 10min explore around the bathroom (including climbing in my jumper on the floor for a wee - I can just hear my mum "Well if you didn't leave your clothes on the floor Olivia...")
We're back to the vets first thing tomorrow, then I think he can go back out to the shed, although I might stick him in with my babies and old doddery senile girl where he can have extra rations for a few days more....

I agree with Sue, to bring a rattie back takes a lot of care and dedication!! Fingers crossed he continues to go from strength to strength. LOL....if its any help, I'm sure my Mum would have said the exact same words Olivia

Well the vet couldn't believe how much he improved today. He really thought he was a gonna on Saturday.
But the credit goes to Dominic - it wouldn't have mattered what I did if he'd given up the fight. You really need them to want to live otherwise it's all pointless, nothing will keep them alive.
He's had a horrid start to life before he came into the rescue and he fought to survive through that, and now this. The little man really has some spirit.
