Well I'm going to learn to play the piano. It's something that I've wanted to do for AGES, so I'm really pleased to finally get round to doing it.
I'm also going to treat myself to a DS or WII - but as they are both as rare as hens eggs atm I think that will be February at the earliest!!!
So what does your new year hold for you?

Staying "in" the saddle is what I want for the new year!

LOL Anne! I go along with that one too! ;D
Helen - you've got me guessing now..............
Olivia - what is a DS? Good for you learning to play the piano!
My personal wish is to do a few Pleasure Rides on Harvey and to watch him have a bit of fun with Sue and Ali! Hopefully get a Dales Pony Quadrille put together (a fun one, not a serious competitive one). Other than that, I just want every one to stay happy and healthy.........

This year I will get D in foal safely, without any stress or upset.
I will make the facilities down the farm better for D and for me.
I am also going to clear out the two bedrooms of our house that are full of junk, move all the beds round and decorate one of them to make a nice spare guest's double bedroom in time for our summer party.

As far as the ponies are concerned, its gonna be a busy year, backing Tommy early spring is a priority, hopefully successfully get Twinkle loading safely so she can get to the stallion and as for Merls it will be another year of pleasure and training rides and I,m really looking forward to that. As for me, losing weight and staying healthily is my main goal, like Linda I need a good sort out and the house needs decorating. Olivia, when I got divorced nearly 10 years ago now, I promised myself two things, one was to learn to play the piano and the other was to learn to ride........well I still can,t play the piano and its debatable whether I can ride lol, but you go for it, I,m sure you will do better than me!

I'd love to learn to play a musical instrument but doubt I'd have the willpower to study! Good on you Olivia, that's a very fine ambition. Hopefully in 2008 I will get at least one mare in foal, and will carry on with my training of the other youngsters. Decorate at least one more room in the house! Keep the weight off that I've lost! Make the most of each day and grasp every unmissable opportunity that's offered to me

I want to successfully do some County shows with Bobs, and to finally get my Picton ticket with Sonny! (Picton is imo the most prestigious novice competition for baby ponies!)
I want to graduate with a good degree, and to get a job and somewhere to live....not too much then !!!

I want to ride more, get my life organised and save up for a decent holiday that doesnt involve tents!
Good for you learning to play the piano, Id love to play piano too. Oh and the DS versus Wii I would get a Wii. I just love how you can have so much fun with the whole family with them. We managed to get one ordered for yesterday delivery.....it came and then wouldnt accept the games! apparently there is a batch of them that have the same fault so we now have to wait some more.

Oh no bev - how frustrating! Our local Argos has got some WIIs in stock and I am soooooo tempted. The problem is that I've got to buy three new HUGE rat cages in the new year too. I shall have to be good I think. Hopefully by next year I'll be able to dazzle you all with glittering christmas carols round the old joanna

Bravo Olivia!!! It takes a lot to tackle a musical instrument. I'm sure you'll love having that skill under your belt, though.

I would like to do much more endurance with Harley this year - and try for a 40 miler. Also going to do the End to End thing, all being well.
Otherwise - keep the weight down, try to get the painkillers down (have to if we want family), not lose my head at work!!!
Good luck to everyone with their goals!!

I'd love for my mare, who is out on loan, to flourish in 2008 with her loaner I'd also love to stay with my bloke, and shift a bit of weight (but without losing the bust!)
