I've just invested the huge sum of..............................................
£9.99 one one ;D oh and bought a recipe book(£4.99) for slow cookers and one pot cooking, I didn't know you could cook so many things in a slow cooker. Think I'll test it out tomorrow

Bargain! I must get mine out again lol, it is lovely coming home after work to a cooked meal. Let me know what you come up with Zelda, my mind is a blank when it comes to food......or rather cooking it.

They are brilliant! I wouldn't be without mine. It gets used several times a week - in fact I've just started off a pork loin joint for our Sunday lunch.

I love mine, brilliant for casseroles etc, love cooking beef brisket in, it falls apart, delicious! I know you can do loads more in them than I ever try though, but still we use ours a lot. Its now 22.5 years old and still going strong

Just about the best bit of kitchen kit available,even if you only use it for stews.... picture comming in to the smell of good food after a day at work! I do all my roasts in mine. Just sear the joint in a pan then bung it into the slow cooker (no liquid) and leave.... utterly delicious!

I need to buy a new one as mine has given up the will to live after 20 years service, can anyone recomment a good one to replace it, I can,t even tell what my old one was as the writing has worn away. lol.

I did pay more for mine, but they are well worth it and great. So handy for us this time of year, i put everything in when i pop in the house for lunch and by dinner, all scrummy and cooked. Saying that we haven't had ours out this winter, i think i will pop and get loads of veg and get ours in use again.

Well I didn't get it started off as early as I would have liked as Tom asked for some help shifting some stuff, the stuff turned out to be about 50 sheets of plasterboard so put it on at about 2 with my tattie bake put it on high and we've just finished eating I think I might just have to get a bigger one this is only 3lt so maybe not big enough for some things ;D

Just had tea from the slow cooker. Onion & bacon (fry) add chunks of ckicken and brown, add chunks of butternut squash. Pour over chicken stock and a hefty dollop of red wine, a couple of spoons of red currant jelly and a smidgen of tomatoe puree. bang in the slow cooker. Yummy it was delicious. even the teenagers ate evrey mouthful.

I use the bottom oven of the Aga as my slow cooker. Just had a delicious meal - brown stewing steak, fry onions and mushrooms, put in dish, cover with bitter, add bay leaves and herbs, tomato puree, any veg that takes your fancy and bung in bottom oven/slow cooker for the afternoon. Stir in a tub of craime freche before serving. Yummy!

I love the slow cooker as well, you can put pretty much anything in it and forget about it for hours! I love doing pork in cider ;D and also steak in ale (or any other kind of beer I have around, I've even used Fosters ). I did try a cake once which was a total failure even though I followed the instructions to a T!!
