Ooh take care! We've just got rain and more rain. A pond has appeared in the gateway between our 2 paddocks - almost to the top of my wellies! I think I'm going to have to try and dig a channel for the water to escape before the horses have an accident rushing through the gateway.

It was awful this morning - but not as bad as Debbie's tornado!! It rained again in the night and of course THAT froze too - the road is quite rough but this morning it was as slick as glass. The dogs were slipping around and when they ran back into their kennels they skidded poor things! I gave up trying to walk and jsut skated in my wellies - much safer!

We've hardly had any frost yet - maybe a couple of days in November! Lately it's been torrential rain and very strong winds, which I hate - but looks like it will be the state of play this winter

Tornadoes come and go quickly. The danger is over within minutes, a day at the most. Ice however stays and is just as deadly. Please be careful Jane!!!! Only do the minimum necessary and wait for the stuff to melt, or get a decent snow on top.

We had a tree down over our road and into the hay field too, but the wretched thing WAITED until I had gone to work so I wasn't blocked in, GRR!!!!! Luckily the fence pinged back up and the horses weren't in the field at the time, so no major damage done. Just wish it had fallen down before 8.30am!!
The wind has calmed down a bit now, but there has been torrential rain and the roads are awash. I dread to think how far into the field the river has come! There was a lake 30 feet across and a foot deep in Harley's field - with the feed bowls at the bottom LOL!

What a tree to lose! I'm so glad no one was hurt by it, though. Do take care on this stuff. Jane, what rotten luck you couldn't have been blocked IN. Best of luck searching for Harley's food bowl.

I can't believe that we had no damage no trees down after the wind last night, I kept waking up thinking the field shelter would have gone again but it was still there this morning, the only thing to have suffered is our phone line is very crackly can't use the phone but the internet is ok

Well, today we have.......................................snow!! We are actually having a real bit of winter up here, which is GREAT as far as I'm concerned - I love seasonal weather. the last few years have been wet and mild so it is wonderful to have had basically 6 weeks of hard cold weather. It was quite blizzardy this afternoon but it stopped after a couple of hours.
So the ice has melted under the snow, but we think it will freeze again tonight.
I got the food bowls out Debbie - with Apollo hollering at me from the edge!!
Maybe there will be big drifts blocking me in tomorrow....... I can feed the animals with the tractor.
