More Ex Bats i hope

iv just emailed of to the battery hen welfare trust and hopefully put my name down for 4 more ex bat girls..

iv had an email back saying they are a bit slow due to jamies fol dinners raising awareness,, which is great..

im in no rush, but looking forward to homing a few more lovely girls.

Well done Row!! I'm hoping to get more inthe spring too. It's great that Jamies programme has made people sit up and take note and that more poor hens are finding homes as a result.
Ill be interested how you go about with the intros of new to old hens as I only have the one pen/ hutch [although it is large enough] I'm worried already about fighting etc when I do get some more.

i was wondering that too, but i think marg and east can go live in the garden shed for a few days till the new girls settle.

when boris arrived easter give him what for for a couple of days!!

Oh great to hear Jamie's programme is having such a big impact! I know of a few people round here who are getting some ex-bats now. I've got more than enough eggs to cope with for the moment so I'll stick with my 6.

I've been keeping hens for about 25 years and never had any problems introducing new ones til the last few years. Now I've given up trying to let Cookie join the flock and even whe one of my 6 girls somehow managed to spend a night out of the hen house, the others really went for her the next morning and it took a couple of days for them to accept her back. I hope you find it easier Row and Leann when you get some new girls.
