We are just north of Inverness, so quite far north I suppose. We had very hard frost before Christmas, then it rained and the ground was so hard the rain couldn't soak in so just sat there and then froze!!
Yesterday it got much milder, and then POURED rain and blew a gale all night - we hardly slept with the racket!
The river burst its banks, one of the roads is closed and several others have streams flowing down them!! It has stopped raining so hard now,and the wind is dropping, and sadly the ice rink has all but disappeared :-(
