Apologies as I know we have had a thread on here before about riding boots for big legs but I can't find it. After struggling to get my gaiters on over my jodhpurs and jodhpur boots at a show on Saturday and then feeling very uncomfortable, I've decided to buy some long riding boots for competitions. Can anyone recommend long riding boots with a lot of room in the calf area for under £50? ;D

I have very big calves and I use the muck boot tay. I know they are not posh enough really for showing though. I use ordinary jodphur boots and some leather chaps made by saddle craft. They are made to measure but were only £40 so not bad at all, I keep mine only for showing and occasionally hunting so should last years. The leather is nice on them.

I gave up!!! LOL
I use jodhpur boots and matching chaps instead! Much easier and more comfortable.
I found that the long boots that I could pour myself in had no grip on the underneath, which made inhand showing a circus performance!! The Jod boots seem to have a better sole for the job!

I don't think you'd get leather for under £50 but have you tried the Aigle range, I am sure they do various widths?
I've got a pair of Rectiligne (French) leather boots which are very soft and come in quite a large range of widths and lengths, they are not too expensive either (mine were £99 but they are probably over £100 now).

These treadstone boots are fab, I have a competition pair. All of these on the website will be a normal calf which they call +1 but they go up to a +4 you can always ring the shop for the measurements as they are a really good buy.
