Totally non horsey but I wondered if anyone had used a smoothie maker? I thought it might be a good way to get more fruit into everyone.

I just use a blender. I start with fresh orange juice & banana and add whatever I have around. I keep a few strawberries in the freezer as they are my fav fruit. If I want to make a breakfast one that is a bit more of a meal I add oats and linseed. Chuck it all in together and wizz it up. I have way too many gadgets in my kitchen as it is lol.

Me too, I just use the blender on the kenwood. Most blenders of 500W are up to it.
If your blender can do ice, then it can do smoothies. The one I had in chester, was a £10.00 jobbie big enough for one person, but it still managed perfectly well.

we've got one, its a Kenwood New York smoothie maker and it makes wonderful smoothies ....trouble is OH is convinced that you must add alcohol to the mix and serve them up like cocktails!

I've got a smoothie maker too and it's great, but like Alison's it gets used a lot for cocktails. I like the little tap on the bottom to pour them out LOL.
