I just thought I'd mention that I've been feeding Dengie Hi Fi Senior recently and the last bag I opened seemed a bit odd. Despite being well within the use by date, it had an odd fermenting smell to it and seemed damper and stickier than normal.
I contacted Dengie straight away. They were very helpful and refunded me the price of 2 bags of Hi Fi. I had to send in a sample and they informed me that it was definately not up to normal standards and had been over-molassed, hence the fermenting. Thank goodness I didn't use any of it - heaven knows what it could have done to Quest with his sensitivity and lami proneness (if there is such a word).
So if anyone has any doubts about a bag of feed they open, please don't hesitate to contact the manufacturer.

Crikey! Good thing you noticed, Pam. Nice to hear that they refunded the money though.....

Thanks for the warning, Pam. I feed Senior Hi Fi to my two oldies and will be getting their first bag at the weekend, so I will check it carefully!! They are already having alfa beet, and Vicky has suddenly developed the legs of a youngster when she sees the bucket, and gallops up the field!
