Linda I can highly recommend the riding tights, I have two pairs a navy with a red stripe and a black with a green stripe, this is the company our hats came from and they are great to deal with, the californian riding tights are brill for long distance rides they wick away moisture and dry in a few minutes if you get caught in a shower, there drink carrier is brilliant too as it stays put and dose,nt bounce around all over the place, hope this helps.

Thanks Vanda. I think I'm going to get some of those tights. What saddlebags do you use?

I like the Musto Snug Jods. They are warm so are good for cooler weather and when washed are very quick drying. I think they are the best I have ever worn.

There MUST be some decent waterproof saddlebags somewhere. I know, when I was in Italy, the riding leader was bemoaning the fact that she couldn't find any saddlebags that were designed to keep the water out. The Americans in the group said they had some good ones, but they're not available in Europe.
I bet the saddler I go to would make some if we provided a design and fabric suggestions. Bev - you're the textile expert - any ideas. Would oilskin do the trick do you think? Or the stuff they make wax jackets out of? They'd need to be either washable, or cleanable......
