So far so good! Sunday I sprayed Harvey's feathers, tail, belly and ears which are the only bits of him exposed. He's been living out in our horrible, liquid clay and normally comes in plastered in mud. He is still fairly clean, no thick clods sticking to him. Just a tiny bit of mud on his feathers, the rest of him perfectly clean. I was able to ride this morning with hardaly any grooming.
I FAR prefer this to pig oil. Even if it only lasts a few days it is well worth it. I can't remember the cost but don't think it was much.

I paid £6.75 a bottle for it from my local tack shop.
I first applied it to Bea on 22 November and haven't sprayed him since, so today is the sixth day. Grooming this morning was still dead easy. Although he had a fair bit of mud on his hocks and knees it came off easily. His mane and tail haven't had the clods of mud in them that they did pre-spray and what mud is there brushes out quickly.
So far I think it's been a successful product and I'll keep using it. I'm not sure how it would work for the prevention of mud fever, because there are several factors involved there that it may not effectively prevent - but it might be worth a try.

Is it still working for you, Pam?

I am very impressed with it! I sprayed Harvey again on Sunday (7 days on) and the difference between him and the other 2 who weren't sprayed is amazing. I know pig oil works for many of you but I found it a horrible mess. How is Bea?

Great! I sprayed him again today - 7 days since last time. It seems to stop the mud sticking even without brushing. In fact if it rains, the mud washes straight off and there was one day he earlier this week when he came in with only a bit of mud around his eyes! I'm impressed too.....

I've just got back from the stables. The other horses that graze out with Bea were filthy - and Bea just had the usual mud around his eyes where I don't spray (mustn't let it come in contact with mucous membranes) and on his hocks and knees. I KNOW he'd rolled because his rug was covered in mud - but not him.

Found the same with Harvey today. His rug and his eyes were caked in thick wet mud but he wasn't as bad as the other 2 by a long way.

I'm going to have to get some of this! It sounds miraculous! What is it made of? Is it like the human hair serums you can buy now?

I'm not sure what is in it - must check. It's not like any of the human stuff I've tried in the past (on the horses, not me). It has a very slightly oily feel to it but nothing like pig oil. It must coat the hair in some way and does leave it slippy so you wouldn't want to get it on the saddle patch. It doesn't feel like any of the "coat/mane/tail shines" I've tried in the past, including Cowboy Magic but must be something along those lines.

Yes! My bottle is supposed to have either a jet or a spray option. It worked fine at first but not the spray option often turns into a jet. I imagine it is due to the nozzle getting blocked. I never thought of complaining but perhaps I should!

Mine's been fine - and I'm on my second bottle.
