Can anyone recommend some good jodphurs? I wear musto snug jods in the winter months but they are too warm for summer. I have some Mountain Horse and some Dublin, both size 30. The dublin are a bit big around the body but thight around the legs and I don't like the mountain horse ones very much. I need some that can be tumble dryed and if possible some that will hold my tummy in!!!!

I've not found anything as comfortable as my Musto Snug jods so stick with them all year round. I will be interested to hear if anyone has found anything beter but equally comfortable for the summer months.

I'm wearing Loveson breeches at the mo and finding them really good. They wash and tumble (although label says don't I've not found it detrimental) and seem to be standing up well to normal wear and tear and are robust enough to keep my wobbly tummy in check. They don't cost the earth either.
I've also got the jodphurs version which is equally as good.

For comfort and holding in middle age spread, I can't fault Pikeur. I have some high waisted ones which are very high at the back. This supports your back and helps to stop you collapsing at the waist, and they hold you in all round, disguising any bulges, while still being very comfortable.
However, if you want to never fall off again, it has to be my new RTS Sportsline Bentex breeches every time. I didn't know whether to believe the hype, but it is all true. The full Bentex seat has no equal for grip, in my opinion, and on a suede or synthetic seat you literally have to peel yourself off the saddle. They make me feel invincible, which probably means I will end up in A and E tomorrow!
They can both be bought quite reasonably on good old Ebay (about the same as Mustos, anyway).

I just have to tell you that I have a pair of Caldene jodphurs which I bought ten years ago and have ridden in 3 times a week sometimes!!! They are only just starting to "bobble" under the seat..... not bad value eh?!!! I know that's not helpful... but what do you buy nowadays that wears that well?

Iv got some Lucinda Green jods and they are fantastic! very well made, wash brilliantly and the fabric is excellent. The sizes are very small though, I have recently lost weight so have been able to wear them, I nearly ended up selling them, glad I didnt now.
Iv got some pikeur ones too, Iv had them for 8 years and they are still going strong.
