I went out this morning to find my 29 yo welsh cob mare lying in the field, and she seemed a bit colicky. I called the vet and he stomach tubed her and gave her a painkiller, but when he came back at teatime it was obvious that she was still in pain, so we had to make the decision to end her suffering.
She was a such a wonderfully gentle horse. I'll miss her so much.

It sounds like you made the only decision possible and I'm sure she'd thank you for it. Thinking of you.

Sorry to hear this, I am sure you know it was the right thing to do as she is no longer uncomfortable. Take care.

What a dreadful thing to happen. I really feel for you. As others have said - you did the right thing. God bless Harriet and love and hugs to you. x
