Today I said goodbye to my pet rabbit... grumpy nasty vicious ..but so loved!! Poor Sooty he died as a result of fly strike... I can't believe I allowed this to happen. Be warned ....check your rabbits closely every day in this mild wet weather .  |

It can happen so quickly, Leann....please don't beat yourself up over it, and he lived to a ripe and very happy old age with you.

I'll PM you Ali - fly strike isn't nice....but can happen very quickly however careful the owner is.

I'm sorry you lost Sooty Bun Leann, to such a nasty condition as well  . My little sickly lamb Jethro also has it, and we don't know whether he will survive as he may have had it when we went away although we didn't realise. |

Sadly it is the old and weak animals that seem to succumb to this most often. Poor Jethro, Gill - he's not had an easy life has he?

I'm so sorry Leann that you've lost Sooty Bun. From his picture he looks to have been such a beautiful color. Please don't be hard on yourself Leann, you take such good care of all of your animals but these things can happen so very quickly.
