We are running a highland pony adult camp at Liphook, Surrey on July 14,15,16. Due to low take up of numbers, this may be open to other ponies.
This is 3 days of instruction, camping, social events etc with all food and instruction included for £75!
If anyone wants more details please pm or e mail me

IF you had any idea how hard i work to put on events for the highland enthusiasts and how much support I give to the deles in the area maybe you would think again about such remarks. I work my butt off trying to put on events many of which are joint ones with area 6 dales - as we are all friends in this area actually. Training day two years ago for both. clinics later this year for both. But events have to be put under one umbrella for insurance purposes. I have a really good weekend planned (with a dales speaker) and just happen to have two spaces left and would have to plead very nicely to allow non members to attend due to insurance, which I was trying to do. If you can afford to stump up the insurance money at £300 plus for a weekend then fine but I am trying to do an affordable event for people and doing it like this keeps the price down. We are in negotiation to run a native pony dressage show in the autumn this year as well. Thats 6 events for highlands dales and other natives this year planned so far.
We don't have a problem with numbers, at our clinic a few weeks ago I had 18 ponies booked in but I booked the facilities and instuctor for an extra hour to make sure my dales friends could also join in, I am sure they did not mind attending a highland clinic.
I am so angry right now - I don't need patronising

Well said Julie, I am particularly grateful for all your hard work you put into organising events for us all to enjoy.
Heather I do feel your comments were harsh, I have been to many events organised by Julie and as she says we are all friends whether we own a Highland or a Dales.

WOah - OK - everyone take a deep breath.
I'm not going to lock or delete this thread atm, but I will do if things carry on.
I am sure Heather didn't mean what she said to come out like it did, but I can see why it would be very upsetting to someone who works so hard to organise these events.
I'm not going to ask or suggest that anyone apologises to anyone else, but I am going to apologise to everyone on everyone elses behalf. Then we're all covered.
Julie - I really hope your weekend goes well. It sounds great fun.
Best wishes
Olivia

I've missed what the problem was on here but would like to say I attended a Highland & Dales Fun Day a few years ago organised by Julie and it was a really great day, including clear round jumping, dressage, showing classes as far as I can remember and also a Le Trec training session. It ran very smoothly and everyone whether Highland or Dales owners had a very good time!

I've also missed the problem, but I was really grateful that Julie was able to get Matthew Lawrence for the extra hour so we could join in the Highland clinic. We had a great time and they are a really friendly bunch. There's not much going on with the DPS area here so I think it's great that Julie tries and includes us in her Highland do's. Wish I could make the camp as it's bound to be a brilliant time. I know how hard you work for HPEC Julie and that it's really appreciated by the members and us Dales people who are lucky enough to be included.
