Craven Country Ride (at Coniston Cold, literally just off the A65 north west of Skipton, North Yorkshire) is running a trail ride of around 10 miles on August Bank Holiday Monday, 28th August.
The route will go over a lot of their private land on grass tracks, and also includes their XC course of around 50 (optional) fences of varying heights from about a foot upwards.
Having done one of their trail rides before, I'd describe it as exhilerating and great fun. It;s very much a case of going the same kind of speed as everyone else.... fast!....... so definitely not a ride for a green pony, but huge huge fun!
They are hoping to have an icecream stop part way round, and maybe a hay field tea at the end! They do do a good ride and fab refreshments!
It costs £25, which may seem a bit pricey for a pleasure ride, but it's well worth it. Fab, well tended grass tracks, loads of jumps, good refreshments. Can't beat it really! It's a 10am start, for which you have to book in advance on 07754 834 756.
If anyone fancies meeting up there, then do let us know. Jill Tudorbow and me are planning on taking ponies.

It would be great if a few of you could make it - if anyone wants to go at a different pace, we don't all have to stay together all the time, but it is a really FAB ride. Jill

Yes, Ang, it's the bank holiday Monday.... 28th August. It'd be fab if you and Joy and the ponies can join us. Hopefully Joy won't take too much convincing!
Alison, I'd love to have seen Ray Hunt but I understand he was only appearing on the Sat or Sun (when I'm tied up on a Ken course) and not on the Monday. Have heard that Craig Johnson has pulled out, but am I right in thinking that Andy Booth is now going to be there instead? Saw him at one of the Parelli do's a few years ago and he was certainly an interesting chap to watch with his "zorse". Hope it goes well, and would be interested to hear about it if you get chance.

equineethologylive.com/Yep, Ray Hunt demos only on Sat & Sun, Monday = Carl Hester, Andy Booth, Dave Stuart & Charlotte. So frustrating when everything is on the same weekend: Performance Show, Arab Int. Show, TREC comp Easingwold, Silversand clinic, Craven Country Ride..........but bought the EE Live tickets ages ago.<sigh>

Yep, that's THE busiest weekend of the year, I reckon! So many different events going on. I'd like to be in 3 places at once, but can't quite manage it!

Penny - we only need to go as fast as everyone is comfy with - or we can separate into two groups - it would be great if you could come, but I do understand you may not be able to. I hope you can come with us one day. I have never done the jumping before - just cantered round them, but this time it might be different, thanks to the work you, Nic, Sarah and my instructor have put in on me and Bow. We are really starting to get our (joint) confidence back, jump-wise. Thanks everyone. Jill
