OK - 1)if you have no brakes Charlie bum is fab for stopping ponies also there are plenty of hills to slow them down. Or just keep going round again -no one minds
2) Lots of people jog round it's actually really only our little gang that says we will take it steady and then one of us ( Sarah K you know who you are) shouts weyhey and we are off " scuse me can we pass you mister?" flat out hairies passing the Eventers always makes me laugh. Obviously we are very considerate though - and I have to run round the jumps otherwise we have a bucking bronco at the mo. 3) walk round and meet us at the ice cream stop - the scenery is fab & you have all day
There you go - no excuse see you there

Sarah and I went today unofficially - have to test it is up to Dales Ponies high standards, didn't we? Bow and Megz were fantastic - they jumped their little hearts out and cantered just for sheer joy. It was lovely to see them having so much fun. I do hope some more people can join us next week. Jill

Jill, I SO enjoyed it today! The ponies really were in their element, and I love the way the jumps are set out now.... with 3 height options alongside each other, so at each jump you can choose which height to jump, or whether to just miss the jumps and carry round on the grass tracks. Looking forward to next Monday!

This trail was wonderful. Sarah, Ang, Joy and myself went round - 14 Kms of rolling countryside with 22 optional fences at varying heights - some were no more than a pole on the ground - others were (to me, anyway) truly terrifying. The woodland walk was really calm and peaceful and a lovely contrast to the hectic gallops and involuntary shrieks (usually me!!) of the rest of the trail. The ice cream at the top of the hill was very welcome as the sun was hot when it was out and the lunch on return really hit the spot. Sarah, the link you wanted for the photos is: www.mattnuttallphotography.co.uk. If anyone else is interested, there is a gorgeous shot of my Bow taking a log jump - number 253, jump one - I hope you are able to find it. Proof positive that I have achieved my aim for this summer. Sarah's Megz looked absolutely stunning, half-passing up and down hillsides and at least, with all her reflective gear, we were in no danger of losing her in the woods!! Cracking day Grommit!

Jill, thanks for putting up that link. I guess the photos aren't up on site yet. It looks like they've just got the ones from previous rides at CCR, so I'll check it again in a day or two and see if we can put up a link to the individual photos of all 4 of our ponies. That was such a lovely one of Bow and you, and there's a nice one of Charlie cantering along too.
As usual, Megz DEFINITELY enjoyed the trail ride! She was oozing energy today and was a joy to ride! Quite a change from her usual laid back self! We certainly had a lot of fun hooling round!

Fran
I've pencilled the Christmas one in my diary, but will be guided totally by the weather. I don't "do" wet/muddy/slippery/icey cross country rides whether with or without jumps, so I'm hoping for a lovely sunny day, with dry footing!
