Just to bring this to the top again. Now confirmed for Sunday November the 19th. Aiming to arrive around 10.30 and be done by 3.30 to 4pm.Jill has offered a stud walk and pony viewing and we can pick her brain about conformation and movement, bloodlines, showing etc. as we go. I thought it would be nice if those who could manage could all bring a plate of food. We can warm stuff up at Jill's. I'll volunteer a hot (heat not spicy) veggie bean dish in a white herby sauce. If you want to come along can you pm me please so I have an idea of numbers. Stud's postcode is TD9 0TR if you want to feed it into www.multimap.comI'll send address and phone number by pm.

this sounds really interesting Heather. Roger and I would be interested if we could make the date. Is 90 miles south of Glasgow in the Borders?

If you go donw the A7they're around 40 miles south of Hawick. Coming from Galsgow you go through Longtown (of sheep market fame).
Hope that helps locate them for everyone.

Heather,
I've just checked on routeplanner and it's about 3 hours from me. I'd be very interested in coming along if it's not in the depths of winter. Thanks for suggesting it.

Julia, I think it's a couple of hours from me, I did go at Christmas to see Jill and Ian but can't remember how long it took I'd like to go but we have the perennial problem of mad dog Clova - there are quite a few times when I wish we'd never got a dog or that I could drive

Heather,
I'll try and fit in with whatever date you opt for, but it might be helpful to try to avoid the weekend of bonfire night - partly because of pony owners wanting to get back home before dark and before any local fireworks; partly because it's the DPS foal show that weekend, and partly because it's the equine event at Stoneleigh that weekend (though maybe that won't affect too many northern DF's).

November would be fine for me Heather!
Zelda, you're more than welcome to go over with me if Tom wanted to stay at home with Clova, don't think Jason would want to go with me anyway so would be going on either on my tod or with beth only, see what you think?
