a western riding clinic? I'm toying with the idea of getting a well respected western instructor to come up to Yorkshire and hold a clinic- 1 or 2 days for riders intersted in covering the basics of western riding on their natives (or any breed come to that).
Would anyone be interested if he could come in April/May time when the weather is better?

mmm possibly. Depending on cost, and if Mair will lend me Tilly and we can get her to where ever the clinic is. Sounds like fun Olivia(who's got something sticky on her keyboard - ewwwwwwwwwwwww!)

OO that would be great fun, if only I had a horse and was closer - I hope you can arrange that Jacqui, I think a lot of natives are really good at western - Prince was I really enjoyed watching Sara's western lessons and riding (and the one lesson I had lol)

Mmmm, I would be interested. If my ankle isn't up to it, some one else could ride Harvey perhaps - if he's fit enough by then?

Yes, of course you can borrow Tilly, Olivia lol!! I can just see Tilly in western tack ....we are not far from Jacqui, so thats not a problem. Well, yes it is, that we will be towing the large lump called Tilly up the big hill out of Glossop, but never mind!!

Lisa has done a 2 day western clinic with Lea before and loved it! I'm sure she would do another if it was local enough for us.
And if she is going, I may take dancer for a try as well! Depending on location and cost etc

At the stables I'm at (South Huddersfield, not far from Penistone there is an arena that is only used by me and the lady who owns the set up so that is one option, if she would be agreeable to us using it an ddepending on the date, the fields might also be available to use and that option would probably significantly reduce costs. I'm happy to provide refreshments etc.
Alternatively there are 2 indoor arena's within 10 mins of us, or I could look for a venue that suits all of us geography wise..
By April time I'd hope that both of mine would be in work so I could make one of them available. Narcisse would be new to western, but is lovely and calm and Sabina has already been started western style , but she is greener in respect of work than Nars.
If I have an idea of numbers, I could get a price worked out. Would 1 day or 2 be better for you all?
I can put people up.

Ooooh yeah, as Jo said, I've done a couple before and really enjoyed it, so did Lea, she likes being a western pony!! We can do a fab turn on the haunches but thats about it though. ;D What would you be doing with regard to tack though?? It's not a problem for me as i've got all the western gear for Lea but not everyone will have that, just wondered. I've a sneaky feeling that me & Lea might stand out like a sore thumb though among all the hairys!!!

I would love to come if claudia isnt at stud, also i think my friend would come on her welsh x tb. either 1 or 2 days would be fine with me, but would there be somewhere for our horses for the night. The earlier the better for me as i expect they will be at stud mid/end may but i could come and watch if they are away.

I'm told that tack isn't an issue as for a day like this the horses can be ridden in english tack. It's the methods that will differ.

Well if me & Jo manage to go and anyone feels brave enough to climb aboard the beast to have a play with all her tack on, thats fine by me, feel free. But just so you know, she has the attention span of a golf ball!!! ;D

Unless you ask her to go fast and then she's got the attention span of Einstein Lisa?!? Depends if Ive got a wagon on the road. Paddy would be fab- he's perfected spinning (usually on the road when I least expect it!)
