I think I might be interested in this. I remember seeing photos last year, it looks like a fab place to ride. I don't think the journey would be too bad for D as it's not far off the A1 is it?
Were there many lunatic riders there last year or was it fairly controlled? LOL!

I'd love to do ride too if there aren't any nutters racing around. I've heard it is a lovely ride.

I have done this ride since they started out there. It is lovely. Very well orginised and the participants are (to date) all very courtious to each other. Not like the castle Howard ride!!! I have never come accross so many RUDE and ignorant people armed with horses in all my life!!!
The ground was solid last year, which slowed the pace down, but even when the ground was better going I wouldnt call it a fast ride. A few nice canter and gallop stretches if you want them, but all in all, a good steady plod round!

I didnt come across anyone who was rude / passed without care etc. The ground was dry and hard- the only section that wasn't was where Yeti pulled a shoe in the mud and stood on it. If something is going to be done in style, Yeti does it. Couple of water splashes- we were given a lead by a small kid on her pony!
