Pasture management talk by Gary Holter

Sorry I've been very absent recently, work and home have been very hectic!

I am having Gary Holter of Demeter Grassland Management over on the weekend of 19/20th May to do me a survey and report on my grazing and grass/pony management strategy.

I have recently bought his CD book which is very good, and am having him out to find out the specifics for my situation.

He is willing to do a talk for "us" on his principles and have a walk round my place pointing things out, if anyone is interested? Cost would be about a fiver for a 3-4 hour stint (to pay towards his travelling as he's coming from Sussex). It could be the Sat or Sun to suit.

It could be really useful for folks with their own land or with rental/livery owners open to new ideas. Or just a chance to meet up and see my fatties. I'll try and con Steve to make some lunch again if anyone's up for it!

Let me know in a week or so I you'd like to come, I need about 5 folks to make it worth while, max about 15-20!

I wouldnt mind coming Lucy, it wont really benefit me as I am on a livery yard but it does sound interesting anyway.
I wont say a definate yes at this moment in time but could I be a 'maybe' and let you know nearer the time??

I would also love to come but it is a bit far and I'm not up to tramping across fields. But I am very interested in what Gary has to say. perhaps you will be able to put some sort of report on here for those of us who can't make it. I haven't seen the CD book but am very interested - my job used to be grass breeding.

Perhaps you could get a Lincolnshire contingent and share driving, Pam, I bet Linda would come too if she's back by then. I'll do a report for everyone anyway. Zelda perhaps I shold get a webcam and do you a video link??!
