I was speaking to Bill last night and he said he'd love to have us all visit again. He's in the new house now with the parrots downstairs although I think I'll miss the 'colourful' entertainment from them We can walk round, meet them all, talk bloodlines, pasture management, feeding, breeding, conformation, movement etc. When we've done this in the past it's been a really sociable occiaison with us all brigning food and pictures and videos and generally having a Dales filled afternoon. SuzieP and horse friends are up the last week in May so how about we go for a day then? If your friends are interested they'd be more then welcome, a friend of mine came round Bill's with me when I went to see Rose and she found it interesting. What dates are you here for? I'm also keen to see all of Catherine's bantams and hens again. Any takers?

Oh I would love to go - pity it is so far. Too far to do in a day for me.

Thanks for the offer Zelda. I might take you up on it - it depends when the visit takes place and on what is happening with Andy's parents plus whether I can organise some one to look after the animals! Going away for even one night is like a military operation!

I'm in the Borders the last week of May with Harley and hubby for the ride.I was thinking of a jaunt to Bill, but not sure a longish car journey would beadvisable for my bones after 100 miles in the saddle! Also, I don't want to kill MIke offwith too much pony talk!!

I used to live up near Bill's place and once popped in on my way home from work (i'd been jealously eyeing the ponies every time I commuted to Glasgow!). He was so nice and friendly and happy to show me round. I can't make it myself this time but please tell me how all the ponies are getting along - he must have some lovely foals by now.

Oooops - have just caught up with this. I'm going to Scotland with a group of horsey, but non-Dales friends and the response to a suggested visit to a Dales stud wasn't overwhelmingly enthusiastic! Sorry Heather - is the visit still going ahead?

Just to say I haven't forgotten this but life got away from me a little recently. I'll try and have a chat with Bill and Catherine after the Highland and see if we can find a weekend day when they'll be at home and we can visit.
