Rules and Conditions:
1 The organizers and each of the show’s officers, servants or agents shall not be in any way responsible or accountable for any loss, injury or damage that may happen from any cause or circumstances whatsoever to exhibitors or their servants or agents or to other members of the public or any animal or property or to any vehicle brought on to the show ground or on premises used in conjunction with the show or while entering or leaving or for anything else in conjunction with or arising out of or attributable to the show.
2 All competitors must ensure that they have adequate THIRD PARTY INSURANCE.
3 This show is run under the showing and competitor rules of the National Pony Society (NPS).
4 In all classes the judge’s decision is final.
5 With the exception of the NPS Baileys Horse Feeds Mountain and Moorland Supreme Ridden Championship (Olympia) Qualifying rounds are open to both NPS Members and Non Members BUT ONLY the highest placed NPS ADULT MEMBER (Standard or Showing) on production of their membership card in the ring will be eligible to qualify for the Final. NPS Adult/Standard members will be required to upgrade to Adult/Showing to enter the final. Qualification may go no lower than third place.
6 Any person wishing to lodge a protest having reference to any person or exhibit shall do so in writing within 30 minutes of the completion of the class and at the same time shall deposit a sum of £10. If the investigation by the committee show the protest shall not be sustained the deposit shall be forfeited to the finds of the show. The decision of the committee shall be final.
7 All Mountain and Moorland and part-bred ponies must be registered with their respective breed society and be shown in accordance with the individual society rules.
8 The organizers reserve the right to amend the judge’s panel and order of classes if it should become necessary.
9 The committee cannot be held responsible for the clashing of classes. Competitors should bear this in mind when making their entries. No fees will be refunded.
10 The committee reserves the right to amalgamate classes if deemed necessary.
11 The committee reserves the right to refuse entries without giving reason.
12 The committee reserves the right to retain all or part of the entry fee in the event of the show being cancelled.
13 Stallions and colts. In hand classes: handlers must have attained their 14th birthday before the 1st of January in the current year. Ridden small breed classes: Riders must have attained their 11th birthday before the 1st of January in the current year. Ridden large breeds: Riders must have attained their 14th birthday before the 1st of January in the current year.
14 No pony under the age of 4 may compete in any ridden class.
15 Spurs are not allowed in any ridden class.
16 Anyone found mistreating a horse or pony may be asked to leave the showground and be reported to the appropriate body.
Ring 1 – Highland, Fell and Dales Ponies - In hand classes

Class 3 Brood mares 4 years old and over with foal at foot
Class 4 Foal born in 2007
Class 5 Yearlings, two and three year olds. Rosettes for the best of each age group.
N.B. This class will be split by age if sufficient entries.
The Best Placed Pony from each breed to come forward for Best of Breed Rosette
The first two ponies from classes 1 to 5 and 12 to 16 to come forward to Ring 1 for judging by Mrs S Hore for the NPS Mountain & Moorland In Hand Kilmannan Stud Silver Medal Rosette Championship
A Silver Medal Rosette is offered by The National Pony Society for the best registered pony in the Mountain & Moorland In-Hand Section. Exhibited by an adult/standard member of The National Pony Society. (Champion or Reserve Champion only). Membership Card to be produced in the ring. This section is to be run under NPS Rules.
Qualifiers are entitled to compete in The NPS Mountain and Moorland In-Hand Kilmannan Stud Championship to be held at the NPS Summer Championship Show in Malvern. Qualifiers may only compete in one Kilmannan final.
Those exhibitors winning a NPS Mountain and Moorland In-Hand Silver Medal Rosette after the weekend of 21st/22nd July, will qualify for the final of the Championship to be held in the following year at The NPS Summer Championship Show.
NPS Silver Medal Rosettes will be awarded to the Champion pony (provided the exhibitor is an adult/standard NPS member) but if that pony has previously qualified then the Reserve Champion may receive the qualification card and Sponsor’s rosette (provided that the exhibitor is an adult/standard NPS member).

Class 6 Nursery Novice Ridden Pony 4 & 5 years old. To be ridden in a snaffle bridle. Will be required to do a simple show.
Class 7 Novice Ridden Pony 4 years old and over, not to have won a first prize of £10.
“The National Pony Society Bob Templeton/O'Neill Mountain and Moorland Open Ridden National Summer Championship." To be judged under the Rules of the NPS
These Classes are open to stallions, mares and geldings four years old or over which must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books
The winner will go forward to the Final to be held at the NPS Summer Championship Show at Malvern in August. A pony may only qualify once, where the winner in the class has already qualified the pony standing next in line which has not qualified will be deemed the qualifier. Qualification may go no lower than third place.
Class 8 Open Ridden Pony 4 years old and over – Highlands, Fells and Dales

These Classes are open to registered Mountain and Moorland Mares and Geldings four years old and over. (Part breds are not eligible.)

Class 9 Junior Ridden – 14 years old and under

Dales Fells & Highland mares or geldings four years old and over, to exceed 138 cm (13.2 hh). Riders must not have attained their 18th birthday before 1st January in the current year.
Junior Ridden Championship – 1st and 2nd placed Ponies from Classes 10, 11 and 21 to compete.

The Highland Pony Enthusiasts Club
The HPEC is open to anyone with an interest in Highland ponies and has active groups in all areas of the UK.
Membership costs just £16 a year for adults and £8 a year for under 18’s for which you will receive biannual copies of the club newsletter and the Highland Times Magazine,
