WELL!! What a wonderful day - and I'm totally in agreement with Harvs winning the most appealing horse or pony, he's such a lovely boy!! I'm also very much in awe of ANYONE who can get up at 5am in winter to get a horse ready for a show - so huge congratulations to Pam.

Well, I'm absolutely exhausted right now! Ali, you will have to sort out the pics tomorrow if you have time after your papers!
As you can imagine, it was no easy task getting Harvey presentable after a night out in the wind, rain and our horrible clay mud! Anyway, we managed somehow and Andy drove us all there and was chief photographer.
Ali did really well! She had problems getting Harvey motivated for the first 2 classes but for the 3rd class and the Championship class she showed him brilliantly! He showed off his lovely big Dales trot and I was very proud of Ali. The placings don't mean much as it was just a fun show with not too serious judging but the way Ali presented harvs in the last 2 classes was great. She then rode him around the Showground just to prove to herself she was conquering her nerves and did really well.
Well done Ali!

Yes - well done Ali for riding Harvs around the showground!! It takes courage to ride a horse in strange surroundings.
Pam, how did the Freisian youngster do?

Sue - she did really well! As you know, this was the first time Irene had travelled the filly in her trailer and the first show but Merrie was brilliant! She was calm and laid back the whole time, taking it all in her stride and yet showed herself off brilliantly. Irene was thrilled! She showed wonderfully well and came 2nd out of 6 or 7 and in the final Championship got a 3rd.

Well done Ali!! Ooh, its bad enough getting up that time in the summer to go to a show, let alone winter!!
I am not surprised Harvey won the most appealing horse class. He is one of my favourite Dales, and I would definitely have put him first.
And well done for riding Harvey round the showground too.

Oh well done Ali! You have come a long way haven't you? Those nerves are certainly getting banished. That was very brave of you to ride round the show ground and well done for showing Harvey so well. I am looking forward to the photographs. Of course Harvey MUST have been the most appealing pony! He is a wonderful pony.

That's great news Pam - I'm so glad. It must have given Irene such a boost. Merrie is something special IMO.......
