Lol! Difficult to describe how to do it - can't anyone at your yard demonstrate?
The big stitched hole is for you to thread one end through to make a loop. ie with the hole at the back, drape the stock round your neck and feed one end through the loop and round back to the front so you end up as in pic 1 with the hole still at the back of your neck. Awkward to do but once you understand how it fits you can do this bit before putting the whole thing round your neck. At this point, one end should be a lot longer than the other.
Number 2 and 3 are straightforward. You can pull this knot quite tight (pulling in an up/down direction) but be sure to keep it central.
At this point I do it differently to the diagrams. My B wouldbe longer than A at this point. I take B behind A over towards my left shoulder. Then I thread it back to the right, passing over A but under the first bit of B. This leaves you in the position of your diagram 5. Don't pull this knot tight. Fold A and B as shown in 6. You can paly about with the knot to make it smooth and even, then put your pin in.
I use saftey pins to keep the long bits in position, pinning them to my shirt.
I don't suppose this makes much sense!

I have put it on the ironing board to re-press and try again as it currently looks like the dog has had hold of it! Thanks for the link Karen, and the tips harveydales!!! The 2 combined and a tot of patience should see me right Maybe!! LOL

Well I think a special rosette should be awarded to the best tied stock in every class - I might not ride a great dressage test but I can tie a mean stock!

Right - Harveydales, if I send you my shirt, stock and pin, will you tie it and post it back! ROFL Just leave me enough room to squish my head through! I can always do my hair and face after I have put the shirt on!! You could be right Barbara - if the Turners dont tie, maybe I have taken the wrong road!!! ;D Oh - can we have a special rosette for the person that is still smiling after 'trying' to tie the blasted thing! I have a great 'fake smile'!!! ROFL Just dont look at my eyes! They always give me away!!! I rolled my eyes (secretly behind my sunglasses the other day) as OH was been a rodney! Unfortunately I had the ones with see through lenses on and was spotted!!
