Took Rocky to a show today. He loaded ok after about 5 minutes of thinking about it! He stomped and scraped for 30 minutes, then gave up for the last 15 mins!! When we got there he stood in the box with the odd scraping moment. I got him off the box and we got ready. He wasn't sweaty!
We had a walk round the showground for AGES before our class (I hate the hanging around at shows!). ANyway, we just did the general youngstock class and came 3rd! YIPPEE! We weren't last or even 2nd to last! It was out of 5!!! SO, we are getting there!
He was such a good boy in the ring! Standing still was occasionally an issue, but hey, I am sure we will grow out of that!!
Anyway, we loaded up and came straight home, and he was the quietest he has EVER been!!! I was convinced I had come home with the wrong pony he was so good!!
PHEW! Last weeks hard work is paying off! We have the Cheshire Show on Tuesday! Hopefully he will behave as well...?
Just wanted to shout that from the rooftops!! I am so pleased with him!!

Oh well done Hannah! Yes, Rocky was a good boy - but it's all down to your hard work last week getting him used to the box. And it sounds like you kept him well occupied at the show in the "hanging around" time. It will have all been good experience for him.
Many, many congratulations on the placing and good luck tomorrow at the Cheshire.

Thats fantastic news! It is so good when you reap results from your efforts!! On Saturday on the way to Bramham with D I actually commented to OH - 'did we remember to put him in there?' We never hear a peep out of him!!!
And well done on your results. Good day all round for you!! No wonder you are pleased!

Thanks everyone!! lots of nice comments from you all!!! I promise to continue all the hard work and not let it slip!
He had his bath tonight for Cheshire tomorrow! What a good boy. I had to bath without help and he was such a babe, although he did get bored and start scraping!! The lady who owns the yard commented on how it was cold to bath (17.5degrees), but I then pointed out that he spent all winter out in the field naked! i can't see that a quick bath will do any harm! These people with these fine skinny nesh things really make me laugh!!!
Will keep you updated about Cheshire! I would like to get placed, but not bothered if we don't as he is also against 3 year olds, so as he is immature anyway he may struggle! We have next year in that class too though!!!
