it will depend on the judge as to whether or not you gallop on the "go round" [the judge will indicate that she wants to see a gallop down a long side of the ring]. as for individual show, yes, its the last part of your individual before coming down the transitions back to halt. DON'T do a rein back unless you are confident you can do it perfectly.........just square halt, salute and smile. as for inhand, you want him going in a nice outline without poking his nose. you need to show the lovely wheel action and him covering the ground. if you go too fast he will poke his nose and flatten his neck, so you need to have someone run him up at home so that you can watch and decide. heather you will be FINE and do brlliantly! put the dales ribbons in his tail and forget about him being mistaken for a highland! LOL you will also be fine in the ridden, think positive, forget all the negative thoughts and ENJOY! who are the judges for you on the day heather?

I haven't a clue about in hand or ridden showing, but just wanted to say GOOD LUCK and I will be there screaming for the Dales brigade from the stands. I'm looking forward to seeing Drummer in the flesh, and will come over and introduce myself if I can and you aren't too busy. Enjoy it! It's meant to be fun!! (says she who refuses to show now.........)

your show sounds fine heather. yes, halt, drop your inside arm down by your side and gently nod and smile at the judge. majority of judges ask you to do your own short show showing extension [gallop] every now and again you come across one who will set a show for you to do. i haven't been under any of those judges so i cannot tell you what they will do.
