Took L to her first ever dressage today, she has hardly been ridden recently due to exams etc. I was a bit horrified by the white boards and flower pots in the arena I didn't think we'd even get in there! She did though and we did the test including the cantery bits with a few bucks and leaps and spooks! oh and embarrassingly I got lost as I only learnt the test yesterday, I meant to ask mum to call but forgot. Anyway we managed to get 59.9% and some nice comments 'cheeky horse with lots of ability' was one, which made me laugh LOL!! Nice to see Claire and Kate there , you both did very well- well done!! It was very good for my fat little horse and I think she can do a few more there to settle her. Have a few not great photos, the proffesional took some nice ones but they are not up yet. warming up ;D

Well, its all about having a go Debbie - dressage is one of those disciplines which is so good for horse and rider technique - but I am far too messy to ever do it, so well done for having a go.

She doesn't look overly fussed at those boards Debbie - I will be amazed if Saturn actually gets round the test at Bakewell as he is so spooky away from home! Well done and that is not an unreasonable score by any means! It's great experience for them anyway, I should be doing this with Saturn

I'm sure he will be fine Gill! and if not I think lots of people will be having the same problems! I was surprised we got anywhere near the boards! It did her a lot of good I think and although she was rather naughty we by no means had the worst score so hopeully when she is behaving and im remembering the way we will do a lot better! She's such a firecracker she needs a long slow work in and I didnt have nearly enough time, going to be there much earlier next time!!

Well done Debbie! LOL @ getting lost half way through! I really need to learn my test for next week - a timely reminder I think! Sounds like she did really well seeing as it was her first time and it was such spook inducing arena. Congratulations.

Well done! I used to go and watch a friend doing dressage there, the pic reminds me of a very wild, wet, windy day when I was videoing her! I think I swore all the way through filming LOL.

I thought they all did very well yesterday.
Linnet looked 'well' and was FULL of life.
missed most of the test but the bit I saw was very good and it was 'have a go'
Valerie.

Thanks everyone, im really pleased despite the odd leapy bucky spooky bits lol!
She is always full of herself Val! haha makes for interesting riding LOL. Im always very bad at remembering tests, I will make sure I have someone to call it next time, I was too busy concentrating on making L behave to think about where I was going LOL!
